What our boiler service covers

A service is not just a quick look and a sticker. We work through the boiler properly and leave you knowing exactly what condition it is in.

• Visual inspection of the boiler, seals and casing
• Gas rate and operating pressure checked against the manufacturer's figures
• Flue and combustion analysis to confirm it is burning safely
• Key components inspected and cleaned as needed
• Controls, thermostat and safety devices tested
• System pressure checked and topped up if required
• Full function test before we leave
• A clear explanation of anything we found

Why an annual service is worth it

A serviced boiler burns less gas for the same amount of heat, so it costs less to run. It is also far less likely to fail when you need it most, because worn parts get spotted while they are still cheap to replace.

Just as importantly, a service confirms the boiler is burning safely and venting properly. That is the check that protects your household from carbon monoxide, and it is not something you can do yourself.

Landlords and rental properties

If you let a property, you are legally required to have an annual gas safety check on every gas appliance and flue. That is a different job from a service, though we are happy to do both in one visit.
